Love.
Romantic love, I mean.
Unpredictable. Volatile. Unfathomable. Inexplicable.
Not something you can lay out neatly in a box, create in a test tube.
And so we try to control.
Manipulate, use, or avoid.
Hide.
The problem isn't with romantic love.
It isn't something to blame, eschew, dismiss.
Not at all.
That won't solve the mess.
The problem starts - here.
With us.
We don't have, but desperately need, a Love bigger than this.
We need God's Love.
His Unquenchable, Unfailing, Unfathomable, Unconditional Love.
Because His Perfect Love
casts out all fear;
all need to dominate, control, dictate.
Perfect Love casts out all fear.
His Love -
is perfected in us.
May we submit to and yield to HIS Love -
and,
in this, be free -
to give
and to receive
and to live,
freely,
in HIM.
